Scope:
Reuters Business Direct team approached OpenCraft to propose an intranet portal solution that would bring together the 1000+ members of the BD team, spread across many countries in the EMEA region. Due to the vague nature of the initial requirements, an agreement was struck to dedicate an OpenCraft team comprising of a business analyst and two developers on a continuous basis, allowing to elicit requirements and build them in an iterative manner.
Execution:
The OpenCraft team implemented a Drupal portal that integrates inside the Windows-based Reuters BD network and presents heterogeneous data gathered from various sources in a unified and friendly interface. The social networking aspect of the portal was emphasized by availing many features like photo sharing, discussion forums, comments, contextualized news based on department and industry, and country-specific and team-specific sections within the portal.
